Primary Buttons on iPhone 7 or iPhone 7 Plus unlike the Main button on other iOS devices. The Main Button detects the presence and pressure of your finger, instead of going inside when you press it. When you press the Primary button, you feel a subtle click. You can choose between three clicks to provide different click rates.
Choose a single click
To change the click feedback when you press the Home button, go to Settings> General> Main Button and select 1, 2,
or 3. Click 1 produces the most subtle clicks and 3 generate the maximum click.
You may find more clicks when you hold the device than when the device is put on a surface, like a desk.
If the Main button is not responding
If the Home button does not respond when you press it, follow these steps:
- Make sure your iPhone is on.
- Make sure your finger is clean and dry.
- Remove case or protective film covering the Main button.
iPhone uses capacitive detection technology on Multi-Touch screen and its main button. You should be able to use the Main button with a glove that works with the screen.
